Frequently asked questions

Can Captanel replace cPanel?

If you manage your own sites and servers, yes: websites, SSL, databases, e-mail, backups and the firewall are all in Captanel, and no panel is installed on the server. If you sell hosting accounts to customers (reseller plans, per-account isolation), cPanel or Plesk suits you better.

Do I have to install anything on my server?

No. Captanel connects over SSH. Only if you want the 24/7 watchdog and phone control is a small listener installed; it is not a web panel and opens no port to the outside.

How is it different from Termius or MobaXterm?

Those are SSH terminals; you type the commands. Captanel has a terminal too, but websites, SSL, backups and restores, game servers and phone alerts are done with buttons.

Does the price go up with more servers?

No. Servers and game servers are unlimited on every plan; the price depends on people and devices.

To be fair: if you sell hosting accounts to customers (reseller plans, per-account isolation), a server-installed panel suits you better. Captanel is made for people who run their own servers, agencies and game server owners.
