Captanel Cep: manage from your phone
Captanel Cep lets you see your servers’ status from your phone, get a notification when something goes wrong and do urgent tasks (restart a game, a service or the server). It is not downloaded from an app store; it opens in your phone’s browser and is added to the home screen.
Pairing the phone
- At the top right, go to Settings → Phone control.
- Press Connect a phone; a QR code appears.
- Scan the QR code with the phone’s camera; Captanel Cep opens in the browser.
- In the browser menu choose Add to Home Screen (required on iPhone to receive notifications).
- In Captanel Cep, on the Notifications card press Turn on notifications, then Send a test; a “Notifications are working” notification should arrive within seconds.
Preparing the server (so it works with the computer off)
With your computer on, the phone works through Captanel. So that it can reach the server and report problems while the computer is off, a small listener is installed on the server:
- In Settings → Phone control, press Prepare next to the server.
- After updating the program, if Update appears next to the server, press it.
Computer on or off
- Computer on: the phone does everything through Captanel (summary, games, services, quick actions).
- Computer off: a yellow “Your computer is off” card appears at the top; the phone connects directly to prepared servers and does the urgent tasks.
Alerts and notifications
The listener on the server checks the following every minute. A problem seen in two checks in a row sends a notification (about 1–2 minutes); when it is resolved a “fixed” notification follows (within 1 minute).
| Alert | When |
|---|---|
| Disk almost full | The disk is 90% full or more |
| Memory full | Free memory is below 5% |
| Game stopped | An installed game stopped without you stopping it |
| Service stopped | A service that should be running stopped |
| Site not loading | A site on the server does not respond |
| Server not responding | The server went completely silent (off, network down): after about 5–6 minutes |
- Tapping a notification opens Captanel Cep on that server’s screen.
- The Current problems card has fix buttons (Restart, Restart the game, Clear RAM) and Show log.
- The Recent alerts button is gold; if a problem is unresolved it blinks red. Tap it to open the list.
If the server does not answer
Below “The server is not answering”, a Why is it not answering? box appears: the last problem the server reported (for example “Memory full”), what to do and when the phone last saw the server.
- If the computer is on and the server is linked to its provider (such as Hetzner), a Force restart via provider button appears: it works even when the server is frozen (like pulling the plug; unsaved game progress may be lost).
- If the computer is off, restart it in the provider’s panel (Hetzner: Console → server → Power → Reset).
If something goes wrong
- It says “Your computer is off” but the computer is on: check that Captanel is open and up to date; close and reopen Captanel Cep on the phone.
- No notifications arrive: press Send a test on the Notifications card; if nothing arrives, check the phone’s notification permissions. On iPhone, add it to the home screen first.
- To try an alert: in the Terminal,
fallocate --length 27G /root/disk-deneme.imgfills the disk temporarily (adjust the size to the free space: used space plus this size must exceed 90% of the disk). “Disk almost full” arrives in 1–2 minutes; delete it withrm /root/disk-deneme.imgand “fixed” arrives.
