Common situations
- The password is not accepted on a new Hetzner server: if the server was created with an SSH key, you cannot log in with a password. The easiest way is to rent the server from Captanel (Rent a new server → Hetzner): the key is set up automatically.
- Letters come out wrong in Hetzner’s web console: the web console may not translate some keyboard layouts correctly; use Captanel’s Terminal.
- I deleted the server at the provider but it still shows in the list: when Captanel cannot reach a server it asks the provider; if it was deleted it says so. Remove it from the list.
- Folder not found: game folders are under
/opt/<game>(e.g./opt/minecraft); check the spelling. - “Unknown or incomplete command”: plain text was typed into the game console instead of a command; use the Announce to players box to write to players.
